Steps to Obtain a Community Letter of Support

Step 1: Ensure you meet the requirements set out by the Province
Step 2: Meet with Sylvan Lake’s Economic Development Officer over video or in person to complete your exploratory visit.
Step 3: Once you have confirmed that Sylvan Lake is your preferred destination, and you have a business opportunity in mind, you’ll need to complete a Rural Entrepreneur Stream Business Proposal Summary and fill out the letter of draft letter of support document. You may request the draft letter of support document from the Economic Development Officer.
Step 4: Your letter of support and business proposal summary will be circulated to our Town Council, signed and sent back to you. This process may take up to 5 business days.
Step 5: Once you have received your letter of support and signed business proposal summary, you may submit an Expression of Interest to the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program.
